Our "pilot" has been in the business for 35 years. He knew everything from the scientific reason of how the hot air balloon rises to who invented the first one with cloth, smoke, and farm animals as the test subjects. Plus he was hilarious.
It was great and I'd HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. We flew with Wine Country Ballooons: http://www.balloontours.com/.

4 things to remember when taking a hot air balloon ride:
1. Wear a hat - the burners are so hot that everytime the set them off the top of my head was on fire!!
2. Wear boots - we launched in a field at 7 in the morning... Even tho it's March, there were "grass-ciles" - poor Dave had his converse on so he may have frostbitten toes. He said during the ride his feet were frozen and his ears had blisters... LOL
3. Dress warm and comfy - its not as cold as you would think at 1,000 feet because you are riding with the winds... however, its cold on the ground!
4. Fly in winter... it's better - in summer it is harder to get appt.s, to lift off, and you have to wake up earlier... yuk.
