Prop 8

Ahh... someone has come thru for me: (Or say what I mean educated-ly)
Shane:
So here is the research for the 'Yes on prop 8' camp:http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=401001f1491e86cee7a2
How can we pacify a Christian God centric government big brother mentality? I wish I knew - but I thought that freedom from religious prosecution was a big deal sometime ago - so why is it now okay to use religious faith based arguments to alienate and entire cross section of our society? NO on prop 8

****************************

Wow... What a hellish world we live in.

I posted a vote NO on Prop 8 on Facebook.
I got this back from a friend:
Girl I would rather eat road kill than vote no on prop 8.Research where marriage comes from, who created marriage, when it began and why. I'm a Christian and if prop 8 passes it will be a constitutional right for gay marriage, meaning any church who refuses same sex marriages will be sued for discrimination. It's telling a religion of umpteen years to change something very sacred given to us by God. It's very serious and it's taking my right of freedom of religion away.I have nothing against gay people, they are in my family and some of my very dear friends are gay. I love them the same as I love anybody and everybody, I place no judgement on them what soever. Do they have a right to change what marriage is, what it stands for, what it's been since the beginning of time? No. If that's the case, what's next? Am I not going to be able to believe in God? Will religions and churches have to worship a new God because someone feels it is their constitutional right to go in any church and worship their "god"? I mean please.Prop 8 is not just about same sex marriage. There is so much more to it. I'm done.Have a fabulous day.

So I wrote back:
So then should it be banned that Athiest or Buddist get married?I'm sorry I can't get on the "sacred" bandwagon either because (like I was telling someone else) of shows like the Bachelor/Bachelorette, Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire or being able to go to vegas and do a drive thru marriage with Elvis :(I have gay ppl in my family and friends and I wouldn't want them to not get married cause I see how they love eachother. And bottom line is it doesn't affect me directly so I don't care.I look at history and changes such as womens right to vote or black people being equal to whites, and altho it isn't "religion based" its just equality. i'm sure then people thought "Great women can vote, what's next"People can sue Starbucks and McDonalds for coffee being too hot... I mean seriously. Sueing is out of control anyway and will happen regardless for less important reasons.I'm not real religious, more spiritual, and just go by my own thoughts and opinions.:)

And then I did my "Research where marriage comes from": (of course these are from NON religious sites)

Just saying

Come, come with the kick drum, come!

Woo...

Then I got back

Marriage came long before women's or civil rights. I'm talking thousands of years ago. I guess you don't know anything about what marriage is or who created it. It was God. Whether you believe in God or not, do some actual research, you might learn something. The issue is not really getting sued, it's taking away beliefs and values of Christians. Our beliefs and values have been this way since the beginning of time. You really think people have the right to change that? You are not comparing apples with apples. Buddist and atheist don't go to christian or Catholic churches and say it is there human right to get married in the church and we don't care what your belief is..too bad. That is just silly. They go to a buddist Temple or an atheist church. Buddists and atheists are not trying to change Christianity. When you say it does not bother you, so you don't care. That's exactly what the white man said when women and blacks were treated badly. The unfortunate thing is that this has already been voted on in the past and it did not pass. 65% of Californians disagree with you. The problem is, there are 4 liberal judges in San Francisco that took it upon themselves to reverse what the people voted for. That is fact.I pulled up spiritual in the dictionary for you.spiritual ˈspiri ch oōəladjective1 of, relating to, or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things : I'm responsible for his spiritual welfare the spiritual values of life.• (of a person) not concerned with material values or pursuits.2 of or relating to religion or religious belief : Iran's spiritual leader. The shows on TV, VEGAS, McDonalds hot coffee? Let's have an educated debate, or none at all.Have a great day:)

So I replied: and I'm done
Wow you sure are defensive. Which is exactly why I don't go to church to have someone tell me my beliefs... I just use my brain, what I see, what I feel... I'm spiritual in the sense that I feel there is something bigger than me. Something that makes me feel a certain way. I never said I don't believe in God or a god. We are all entitled to our own opinions and lives. :) I don't think the tv, vegas, mcd's signifies an "educated" debate or not... its just plain fact and life. No matter what you believe the world is the way it is. People are the way they are. Religion hasn't proven to change that. Nor Propositions, nor Government, etc...

Good stuff, you're on a roll the past couple of days. Your friend isn't quite what I'd call "open-minded". This issue is causing a huge stir (for lack of a better word), it seems like everywhere I go around Pleasanton/Dublin I get bombarded by people who are either for or against this proposition. I really can't understand why anyone would have an issue with gay marriage, probably because my logic detector isn't damaged by any religious misconceptions about marriage. A "yes" vote on this is such blatant discrimination, I can't figure out why/how everyone can't see that regardless of their religious beliefs. I haven't witnessed an example of homesexual discrimination this bad since the president of the KEG house was almost kicked out of the fraternity because Steve Sanders inadvertantly outed him. Hopefully the Prop 8 saga will have an ending as happy as we saw with the KEG house story.

Yet another valuable lesson we can learn from 90210.

OMG Totally LMAO!!! The 90210 reference... so f'n funny. And then the Nat Busichio name... Are you Joe E Tata??

Nat Busichio said...

One can only dream about being the icon that is Joe E. Tata. Unfortunately I'm not him, just one among tens of millions of adoring fans. Besides, wiht his jam-packed social calendar it would be impossible to tear him away from LA/BH for a visit to Pleasanton.

Ok, all sarcasm aside, can you imagine how happy he was when he got the call to be on the new 90210? I'm guessing he really didn't have too much else going on, which is shocking (back to sarcasm) considering the range he showed as an actor during his days flipping Mega Burgers.

Hey Nat had some good advice in some episodes. Like that one... umm.. the one where they're at the Peach Pit... and ... ummm. OK I got nothin'.
Poor guy.
I'm assuming he had a mild heart attack when he got that call.
Here's his compelling interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEFF_hr7xks

I can't access YouTube from work, for some crazy reason my company's firewall blocks me from accessing it. I guess they don't think me browsing interviews of C list celebrities is business-critical.

LOL! Aww thats too bad. It is such a riviting interview :)
Poor Joe

Here is my two cents about McSame and Falin...

Too bad for her there is no way in hell that old bastard and the anti christ are being elected!

I would like to know why...

A) She is charging Alaskan residents $100 for rape kits

B) Why anyone that is raped by a family member or stranger shouldn't be allowed to terminate their pregnancy according to her

C) Why she is contesting putting the polar bears on the endangered species list because it would interfere with her drilling

D) Why she is having a multi million dollar bridge built so that her commute to work will be a lot shorter... Sounds like a great way to use tax payers money... Stupid bitch don't build that bridge and then perhaps you could afford to your citizen's rape kits?

E) I love how miss high and mighty Christian girl got knocked up and then had a shotgun wedding. You got married August 29th and your son was born in April... Im thinkin he wasn't premature!

I could go on for days about this evil woman but I won't because I'd rather discuss 90210 and Nat.

HELLO he gave good advice when Brandon was gambling and owed the bookie a lot of money. Nat yelled at him and then bailed him out!

Oh how I love 90210... and Luke Perry!

Nat Busichio said...

Yeah, that was good advice if you ignore the fact that Nat introduced a high school kid to Duke (the bookie). Also his final power play to get Brandon to stop gambling was to threaten to tell his dad on him...like a middle-aged man pulls the "I'm going to tell on you" card on a teenager. The writer of that episode must've been the same person who wrote the Brady Bunch episode when Cindy was tattling on everyone. Give me a break.

Totally agree with the Luke Perry comment, if there was a Mt. Rushmore of guys from high school shows he would have to be in the George Washington position, followed immediately by Zach Morris (if it wasn't so late on a Friday I'm sure I could fill the other two slots but my mind is mush). I wouldn't put Brandon on there, he wasn't edgy enough (even the one time he took drugs was when Emily Valentine drugged him with ecstacy without him knowing it and he totally flipped out after the fact).

Nat Busichio said...

...also add Mike Seaver to the fictional Mt. Rushmore, I thought of him as soon as I posted that. That's a no-brainer.

not exactly sure how Nat, 90210, and the Peach Pit got into the discussion about Prop 8...but okaaay

Im voting NO on Prop 8 too. I mean, really, why is it such a big deal to some people? I believe a man & a woman were anatomically made for eachother, but beyond that...? I don't think the schools are going to start preaching about same-sex marriages any more than they preach about inter-racial marriages. Why do I care if two people who love & care about eachother, regardless of what they look like or what they do with their genitalia, want to marry........oh yeah...I don't
